Mark de Grasse, Pumpkin Challenge Bodyweight Conditioning Workout

Mark de Grasse, owner of My Mad Methods, performs the Pumpkin Workout Challenge, contributed by Victor Sellinger at http://www.MMARoots.com. It involves 1 pumpkin, 5 exercises, 25 reps of each exercise, and at least 3 sets. One more challenge, you can't put the pumpkin down or you have to do another set of the complete circuit!

Pumpkin Challenge Bodyweight Conditioning Workout Instructions:

Perform all sets with no rest in between exercises and minimal rest between sets. Time yourself and try to beat your time with each workout. If you're using weight, attempt to hold the weight the entire workout without putting it down. SPECIAL NOTE: This is the My Mad Methods Workout Challenge for October 2011. A2: Sit Up w/Twist - 3 x 25
A3: Walking Lunge - 3 x 25
A4: Thrusters - 3 x 25
A5: Elephants - 3 x 25

This is ace haha!!! Once question - do you have to hold the pumpkin (or weight) between sets,therefore, the entire 375 reps or can you rest between sets?

@Meredith - Good luck! Let me know how it goes!

@mtmcgill - The goal is to hold the weight up for the entire workout without putting it down. I found that sitting it on my shoulder was the least tiring between sets. Good luck!

We did it this morning at the park with 12lb medicine balls, no resting in between sets!!
4 sets in 18 minutes! Quick but brutal! Really set the stage for the rest of the day.

@whitewave - Nice work guys! I did 3 sets in 14 minutes with a 20lb pumpkin. I'm going through John Wolf's EKG DVD for the rest of the month, then I'm going to do the challenge again and see if I improve. I'll let you know what happens.
