Tsunami Push Up Variation, Extreme Push UpsMichael Robinson (Instructor Mike) performs a Walk into Hands with Extension. This movement involves most body parts including Quads, hamstrings, glutes, adductors, delts, triceps, erector spinae, transverse abdominals and a variety of stabilising muscles. Other Partner assisted bodyweight training. An advanced exercise as it doesn’t just take muscular strength and endurance but also requires good motor skills to perform, such as hand eye co-ordination, balance and reaction time. It is a workout for both the base and the flyer. The base has to be able to push press the flyer to an extended position whilst remaining in control. The flyer needs to explode off of the floor with her foot and off the bases shoulders in the beginning to help getting to hands. Then she must keep her muscles tight and squeeze as she is pushed to extension and whilst she is in the air, this will help keep balance. It is a more sport specific exercise for cheerleading. There are also easier versions where you have more than one base. It is great fun to practise and try and master! It will make you stronger and improve motor skills, just be sure you have a spotter! Several in the beginning is definitely recommended.
