How to do the Squat Hold Exercise The Squat is another basic body weight exercise that is a must do if you are looking for leg strength. This is a great exercise for beginners to build leg strength or for the elite to build phenomenal lower body endurance. For some variety and to provide a different stimulus, try stopping when your thighs are near parallel. Hold for as long as you can.

Step 1 Stand with your feet slightly wider than hip width
Step 2 Look Straight ahead and drop down as if sitting in a low chair. Stay in this position for as long as you desire.
Step 3 Raise back up and repeat.
Tips Imagine you are sitting on a very low chair behind you Instead of simply dropping down, pull yourself down with your hamstrings and gluteals.
