| The Chin up is one of the ultimate body weight exercises and a fantastic test of upper body strength. This is one of the most basic exercises yet underutilized due to it's difficulty for beginners. So many gym-goers pass on the chin up for the much more popular lat pulldown machine. If building strength is your goal than you need to be doing chin ups. | |||||||

| Exercise Steps |
| Grab a bar with your palms facing you about shoulder width | |
| Pull yourself up where your chin is above the bar | |
| Slowly return to the bottom position and repeat | |
| Maintain core tension throughout the duration of the exercise. Look slightly up and grip the bar tightly. |
